Caro Snatch (DE/UK)

Well it all started back in 1998 with a damaged back, a double-decker bus as a home and a Korg Poly-800 synth. Bedridden after back surgery and forced to be still and horizontal, Caroline dedicated herself to the manifestation of her creative energy via sound. And so the unique & category-defying aspects of caro snatch were developed... Described as a "one-woman electronic avalanche", she can be found on stage with a few hardware devices, allowing for improvisation and in performance. Her raw electronic soundtrack is embellished with life-affirming vocals and multi-lingual poems. Combining style and substance yet always authentic, caro's repertoire is not confined to sub genre -anything from improvised noise loops to a waltz may occur. Caro left her musical home Newcastle, uk for the creative melting pot that is Berlin in 2005. recording, producing, gigging, collaborating (with musicians, visual artists and fashion designers) and organising "Rare as Green Dog" electronic music events, the time is now ripe for a debut album. Entitled "es muss sein" the work is intended as a journey through the quagmire of human emotion with an ultimately hopeful conclusion. The album is self-produced with mixing assistance from Robert Ohm, consisting of pimped-up live hardware tracks or digital laptop creations. Two bonus collaborations are also therein with Newcastle's Cathode (Expanding Records) and Berlin's Bo Raehme (x.a.cute sound system). The album tour (to be taken slowly due to back sensitivities) is underway as is first feature film soundtrack.

Dr Nojoke (DE)

Since 2005 Dr.Nojoke has been working on technoid sound-sculptures based on his archive of self-made noise-recordings he collected over the years. He defines a deep, funky, minimal, quirky, clicky micro-cut-up-music, he calls Clikno. Always with an experimental approach in production Dr.Nojoke relinquishes the conventional rave-signals and typical techno sounds (as the TB303 or 808/909 drum machines). He prefers to play with his own sounds. The de-composition of usual harmony- and melody-schemes is also important for him; He dislikes typical or popular sounds and hooklines. Although his sounds come to 95% from the acoustic, real world, he forms highly technological Clikno-music, which may not carry emotions in itself, but triggers and unleashes them. Amidst all this well-considered concept is of course the element of fun and serendipity. The live show may feature instruments such as radio, crushed plastic bottles and souvenirs as Dr.Nojoke celebrates the joy of finding special sounds in everyday objects not usually appreciated for their musicality. This is part of the magic and fun of his performances. Dr.Nojoke is serious about what he does, but doesn´t take hisself too seriously.
